Building a community
Is not just as simple
As building a few houses.
A simple hut-shaped building has been a sporadic motif in my work for years, started when I was making stained glass panels back 2015.
It’s only recently that I’ve really started exploring it as a form and as an idea. It tangibly represents my thematic anchors of place and space. It represents human influence but it doesn’t depict humans, allowing room for your imagination.
Textured deep green-grey print on delicate Japanese rice paper. Roughly 18 x 24cm.
